Kerri's desire to help others has seen her work for many years as a volunteer kitchen helper for the Salvation Army cafe as well as taking part in a charitable trip to Sierra Leone in 2004. Organised by a team from the Mercy Ships, the country had just come out of a civil war and all members had to receive UK Government permission to take part. Over the two week period that Kerri was in Sierra Leone the team helped in an orphanage for children suffering from polio.

In her spare time Kerri enjoys travelling, walking, reading, baking and gardening, and helps out with Wednesday Club, which is a club for the elderly.

Kerri has been happily married for 14 years.
